CHALLENGE:
New York State needed a brilliant sounding system installed under
an aggressive deadline. With a seating capacity of 982, the Hart
Theatre is used for larger productions including musical theatre,
dance and music concerts. New York State also required an interim
system for the 18 months prior to the major state-of-the art renovation.
SOLUTION:
The interim system was successfully tested within 18 widely-varying
applications prior to their installation at the Egg. The loudspeakers
were model 2122 HL enclosures housing a pair of vertically-spaced
12-inch drivers and a centrally-mounted high frequency section
outfitted with a compression driver featuring a 1.4-inch throat.
Flown three-to-a-side, in accordance with Dalbec Audio's a blueprint,
the QSC 2122 HL boxes are buttressed at the low-end by four Model
J-18 horn-assisted subwoofer enclosures. Then, during a 6 week
gap in the performing arts schedule, Dalbec performed a State-of-the-art
renovation including computer-controlled speaker arrays and 26
bittree patch bays to provide the ultimate in quality, performance,
and flexibility.
